What it actually does
One reserved line, not an airport fast-forward button.
It reserves a checkpoint entry
Choose the flight and party details, receive an assigned checkpoint and time, then show the confirmation to airport staff.
It is for departing general screening
It is not needed for a passenger who is only connecting at SEA, and it is different from PreCheck, CLEAR+, premium, and accessibility lanes.
It manages a queue—not every delay
Road congestion, parking, airline check-in, checked bags, walking to the gate, train connections, and boarding cutoffs remain outside the reservation.

Spot Saver is useful because it is specific—not because it replaces every other option.

Build the whole departure plan
Work backward from departure, then add the reservation.
Start with SEA’s baseline
Target terminal arrival two hours before a domestic departure or three hours before an international departure.
Check the demand window
SEA identifies before 9 a.m., 2–5 p.m., 9–11 p.m. as recurring busy periods. Add road and curb margin when your trip overlaps them.
Reserve up to five days out
Use the exact airline, destination, flight number, party size, and contact information. Same-day inventory may exist but is not guaranteed.
Follow the confirmation
The current Port of Seattle page lists Checkpoint 4. Use the location and time in your confirmation rather than relying on an older article, search result, or screenshot.
Recheck on travel day
Verify the flight, checkpoint operations, road conditions, and airline messages. A reservation is not protection against a changed flight or closed lane.

Traveling with accessibility needs
Spot Saver is not a substitute for accessibility planning. SEA recommends arranging airline assistance ahead of time and contacting TSA Cares at least 72 hours before travel when screening support is needed.

Is SEA Spot Saver free?+
Yes. The Port of Seattle describes SEA Spot Saver as free timed entry to the general security-screening line, with no membership required.
How early can I reserve SEA Spot Saver?+
Reservations can be made up to five days before departure. Same-day appointments may also be available, but slots are limited.
What appointment times are offered?+
The official program says appointments are offered from 240 to 60 minutes before scheduled departure, subject to availability and operating hours.
Does Spot Saver mean I can arrive later at Sea-Tac?+
No. It reserves access to a general-screening line; it does not remove road travel, airline check-in, bag drop, terminal walking, boarding cutoffs, or unexpected disruption. SEA still advises two hours for domestic departures and three hours for international departures.
Can I choose any checkpoint?+
The Port's current Spot Saver page lists Checkpoint 4. Follow the checkpoint and time in the confirmation because hours, capacity, and assignments can change.
Can a group use one Spot Saver appointment?+
Yes. The current Port FAQ says one traveler may book for a party of up to 10 people. Enter the complete party size during booking.
