The useful answer

Should this fit your day?

Best for
Art lovers, and anyone already at the Space Needle who wants a second, very different stop without another ride.
Time to protect
Most visitors spend one to two hours in the galleries, garden and glasshouse; add the Space Needle and you have a half day.
Cruise-day fit
Seattle Center sits between the two cruise piers but isn't at either. The free coat check can take big bags, but a whole party's cruise luggage is a lot to hand over, so have a plan before you go.
From the terminals
Pier 66 is the closer terminal, a short ride up from the waterfront; Pier 91 is farther away. From either pier, take a ride rather than walking with luggage.
Before a flight
It pairs easily with a Space Needle ticket on a flight day, but two timed visits back to back leave less slack. Put the drive to SEA and your airline's deadline first.

What to know before you go

  1. 01

A visit covers the Exhibition, with its eight galleries and the Glasshouse, and the Garden outside. Live demonstrations and an audio tour come with every visit.

  2. 02

Large strollers, bags and suitcases aren't allowed inside. A free coat check can hold them while you look around.

  3. 03

Photos are encouraged and flash is fine, but selfie sticks, tripods and camera extenders aren't. There's no food or drink inside and no phone calls in the galleries.

  4. 04

Children need to be with an adult, and only service animals are allowed in the Exhibition.

  5. 05

It's next door to the Space Needle, and the Seattle Center Monorail from Westlake Center drops you a short walk away.

Check the official site for current hours, tickets and combination options with the Space Needle before you go.
