Seattle visitor guide

What to do in Seattle

Make the city fit the trip. Start with your available time, cruise terminal, luggage, and flight deadline—then choose the attraction.

Start with the clock

A useful stop is one you can finish

  1. About 2 hours

    Stay near the waterfront

From Pier 66, focus on Pike Place Market or the central waterfront. Choose one anchor and keep the route reversible.

  2. About 4 hours

    Choose one timed experience

Pair a scheduled attraction such as the Space Needle or Underground Tour with one nearby neighborhood—not a citywide checklist.

  3. Half a day

    Build a directional route

After disembarkation, move toward the next destination. The Museum of Flight can fit a southbound plan toward SEA when the flight buffer is protected.

Choose the experience

Four different answers to “What should we see?”

01

Pike Place Market

A flexible waterfront stop for food, local shops, views, and a short Seattle walk.

Best for: Travelers who want a distinctly Seattle stop without committing to a timed indoor attraction.

Allow about 60–120 minutes for a focused visit; add time for a meal, shopping, or the lower levels.

02

Space Needle

A timed observation experience at Seattle Center with indoor and outdoor skyline views.

Best for: First-time visitors who want a compact landmark experience and a broad visual orientation to the city.

Reserve roughly 90 minutes for entry, elevators, and the observation levels, plus any ticket-line buffer shown for your date.

03

The Museum of Flight

A substantial aviation museum south of downtown and relatively close to the SEA Airport corridor.

Best for: Aviation enthusiasts, families, and travelers with a half day rather than a narrow pre-boarding window.

Plan at least two to three hours for a useful visit; serious aviation fans can easily spend longer.

04

Seattle Underground Tour

A scheduled, 75-minute walking tour beneath Pioneer Square's rebuilt street level.

Best for: Visitors who prefer local history and storytelling to a conventional observation deck or museum.

Protect about two hours around the 75-minute tour for check-in, finding the entrance, and returning to transportation.
